Period products are so important for self-care. In the new year, we can re-imagine our relationship to period products to promote the health of our own bodies, the health of the Earth, and our chequing accounts.
Average cost of 5 reusable pads that can last more than 5 years: $100 CAN total
Average cost of 12 months of single-use pads x 5 years: $600 CAN total
Moreover, did you know that period products are some of the most common items found on beaches 🏝 around the world? Unfortunately many of them are also made out of 90% plastic.
Whenever possible, think of switching to #reusable products ♻️ like: washable pads, menstrual cups, period underwear, organic single-use items, or even reusable tampon applicators.
Not only can we support the health of Parent Earth, but we save money and support future generations of plants, bacteria, and animals (including humans!) 🌱🐳
By being #environmenstrually friendly, we are listening to calls from our Indigenous neighbours who continue to remind us to heal and tend to our relationship with the Earth.
Who are you go-to brands for re-usable period products? Or is there one that you’ve heard of that you want to try out? I would love to know through a DM on Instagram @imwithperiods
Talk soon,
Taq
