4 Books from the 4th floor of the Library: Motivational Books by Women

On a daydream friend date together, do you want to go to the library, bring a hot drink, and browse the shelves together?

The archives of books written by old and new ancestors have been such a self-care blessing for me during the pandemic.  I had a few “a-ha” moments while reading 4 books from the 4th-floor non-fiction section of the central @hfxpublib and I wanted to share some quotes from them with you!

1. The Path Made Clear by Oprah-ji @oprah: “Find your lane. Make space for the flow to show itself. Follow the natural rhythm of your life, and you will discover a force far greater than your own”

2. The Secret Life of Sleep by Kat Duff: In some South Asian traditions, “sleep is viewed as a spiritual practice that prepares us for shifts in consciousness...teaching us to withdraw first from the outer world of objects, the inner world of thoughts and images, until we reach the blissful deep dreamless sleep”

3. What a Time to Be Alone by @theslumflower: “Sometimes, people get a rush out of being mean to you because it’s the closest they can get to reclaiming power over their own lives”

4. Self-Care Down There by Taq Kaur Bhandal: “menstrual cycles, from menarche to menopause, signify new beginnings, health, and detoxification.” Our book is available at most public libraries!
